Zach Gillion

DIRECTOR OF BASKETBALL CURRICULUM
Coach Zach Gillion, a Co-Founder of Gillion Basketball Academy and Director of Basketball Curriculum, made a name for himself as head coach at Florida high school powerhouse, Northeast High School, from 2017-2020 and as an Assistant Coach at West Oaks Academy from 2020-2021. A three-time Coach of the Year at Northeast High, Gillion led NHS to five district titles as head coach of the boy’s and girl’s programs.
Coach Zach was an Assistant Coach at Division 1 Samford University and established himself as a top recruiter of talent and expert at breaking down game film and a player's strength and weaknesses using advanced game film analytics.
Coach Zach is also a founder of AAU Team Breakdown and one of its longtime Coaches, overseeing their back to back AAU Championship.
Throughout his 20 years of coaching elite high school and AAU teams and in Division 1, Coach Zach has led over 150 athletes to collegiate basketball programs and over 50 players into the professional ranks, including the NBA.
Coach Zach is Gillion Basketball's Recruitment Coordinator as well, working with our athletes on training plans to develop the skills D1 Coaches require, breaking down game film for developing high basketball IQ, and helping athletes develop highlight reels for recruitment and social media.
Darrance GIllion

DIRECTOR OF BASKETBALL TRAINING
Coach Darrance Gillion is a Co-Founder of Gillion Basketball Academy and its Director of Basketball Operations. Coach Darrance is also a founder of AAU Team Breakdown, a nationally recognized AAU program and 2 time national champion, and has coached within Team Breakdown and in high schools for over 20 years.
Coach Darrance's transformative influence on players at various levels reflects his profound understanding of the game and dedication to their growth. His ability to refine techniques and instill a winning mentality underscores his pivotal role in shaping the careers of budding talents and elite professionals alike.
Over the course of his training and coaching career, Coach Darrance has trained and placed over 150 athletes in Division 1 programs and over 50 athletes in pro basketball careers, including several NBA players such as Anfernee Simons and Kai Jones.
Coach Darrance's approach, whether he is training Little Ballerz, Middle School players, High School athletes or college players, is always focused on developing the fundamental skills and techniques athletes need to play at the next level.
Phillip Budwick

DescriptioDirector of Academy Operations
Philip Budwick is a Co-Founder of Gillion Basketball Academy and its Director of Academy Operations. He has a law degree from Tulane University and a Masters of Science in Finance from George Washington School of Business where he is also a Lecturer in Finance.
A self-proclaimed gym rat, you will find Phil in the Academy often helping with training sessions or simply working on his jump shot.n goes here
